Tinkers that go to an inspection will be awarded depending on their quality. Foals to 2 year olds are assessed on their exterior and movement. Tinkers 3 years and older are assessed on their type, exterior and movement. Breeding tinkers can also be assessed on the quality of their foals. Tinkers will be rewarded a 1st, 2nd or 3rd premium depending on their quality. Higher quality tinkers and good breeding tinkers may also be awarded with the following award
1. PREDICATE STAR *
To achieve a 1st premium with star, the tinker must be at least 3 years old. At the inspection they should have at least 210 total points, and a minimum of 70 points in the TYPE section.
For a stallion to be approved they need a 1st premium with star.
2. PREFERENT PREDICATE
This award is based on the horses foals.
Stallion:
A stallion must have at least 15 offspring that are 3 years or older. 9 should have achieved a 1st premium and 6 achieved a 2nd premium. The stallion must also have a stallion foal tat is also approved by the NSVT.
Mare:
A mare with at least 3 offspring of 3 years or older who have achieved
a 1st premium.
3. PREDICATE MODEL **
This award is for the higher quality tinkers. Tinkers must first achieve a 1st premium with star. When the tinker is then 5 years or older, they can attempt to get the MODEL award. To achieve MODEL the tinker must receive a minimum of 7.5 points for TYPE. The exterior and movement must be good for the TYPE
