Conditions to participate in inspection

You must be a member of the PSHT for your horse to be eligible to participate in inspections.
As of 1st January 2020, all mares, foals and stallions should be tested for PSSM1. If your horse is not yet tested for PSSM1, the studbook can arrange it for you. For the most recent price, please contact the studbook. Tinkers that have a sire and dam that are proven to be free from PSSM1 do not need to be tested.
Stallions participating in an examination for their stud license must be proven to be free from PSSM1 before inspection.
Geldings do not fall under this condition because they have no breeding value. Of course testing is optional.

The cost of participating in the examination, testing PSSM1, micro chipping, passport, stable rental and membership have to be payed before the examination. If the invoice is not paid you will be excluded from the inspection.

Tinkers 1 year and older should have a valid passport, including vaccinations. For foals that have not been microchipped, the dams passport should be shown to the show secretary.

DNA samples (hair sample) taken from your horse, because we as a studbook are required from the RFO. This sample will be stored in our archives. At the request of the RFO, random DNA samples are sent to the laboratory for checking PSSM1 results or parenting. If your horse must also be tested for PSSM1, the studbook consultant will take two hair samples.
